The Italian Club Cape Town (ICCT) was established in the 1960’s as a meeting place for Italians in a home-away-from-home for Italian immigrants in the city. In 2019, this thriving social hub is hosting several events which all are encouraged to join in on. Here’s a look at what to expect at the ICCT this December.

The Club

Visitors are welcome to head to the club for an espresso. The atmosphere is one geared towards family, where children can play in a safe and welcomed environment. The club caters to diverse interests and is home to a restaurant that has weekly speicals. The La Bottega Deli is stocked up with Italian favourites, from Panettone to Pandoro, open Tuesdays – Sundays.

It is no secret that Italians are football fanatics. The Italian Club has a rich footballing history, even having hosted the IFA European Club League. The club is currently in the process of reviving that tradition by restoring the field. Soon, Italian sides will be formed to play in local leagues. Colin Gie, Cape Town’s football legend and European scout will be heading the project.

The club also offers various cultural and sporting activities and classes. If you would like to immerse yourself in all things Italian without leaving the country, pop in to connect with others and to enjoy the many events arranged by the club.
